Three planes of cold-folded sheet: backrest, seat and arm come from the same piece. The support is raw wool woven into quilted sections.
The armchair is made from a single gesture: folding.
No visible screw: the backrest, the seat and the arm are planes of the same sheet, turned cold until they find their resting angle. What holds the piece up is its own geometry — the sketchbook drawing already carries the 400 and 300 mm dimensions beside the colour study.
Each face takes a different treatment. On one side polished metal keeps the trace of the abrasive; on another, heat pulls the steel towards blue; on a third turn, oxidation opens patches of rust. It is the same piece changing skin as you walk around it.
The seat is quilted raw wool, laid over the steel with no upholstery — the soft resting on the hard, with neither one disguised. That is where the name comes from.

Sketch, dimensions and decisions — the piece drawn before it exists.
Cutting and shaping the steel by hand, seam by seam.
The reaction of the metal guided to the right tone — the signature of the piece.
The surface sealed at its exact moment, to last.
The same piece in different finishes: polished in the open field, oxidised at dusk. The steel answers the light of each hour.
Full turn: each face of the sheet takes a different finish — pigmented, aged and polished metal.
Each sheet takes a different treatment on each face. Turning the piece, the same object changes colour, shine and visual weight — and that is why the choice of finish changes the result so much.
